Drew Barrymore will no longer host the National Book Awards in November, according to a statement from the National Book Foundation.
The NBF rescinded Barrymore's invitation following the news that The Drew Barrymore Show would resume production despite the Writers Guild of America's on-going strike.
"Our commitment is to ensure that the focus of the Awards remains on celebrating writers and books, and we are grateful to Ms. Barrymore and her team for their understanding in this situation."
No announcement has been made about a replacement host, although Oprah Winfrey is still listed as a guest speaker on the NBF's website.
Finalists for the 74th National Book Awards are set to be released October 3, with the ceremony scheduled for November 15. (You can register to watch the ceremony online.)
